stephenallsopp@gmail.comHello, this is Stephen's blog.
I'm a fortysomething bloke, divorced and now living with my partner and an unfeasible number of cats...to whom I am allergic. I work as a counsellor within the education sector (so expect a certain amount of evasiveness about my daily activities because of that), having decided to make the switch from IT in 2003.
In between that, I do a little training - mostly around counselling skills - and write occsaional articles, the general idea being to blend the tech skills from the IT side with the soft skills from the counselling side, and come up with an "edge" nobody else has...I like edges.
I live in West Wales, just down the road from Pembroke Castle and two enormous oil refineries.
I don't do nearly enough exercise (but that's changing, as of March 2009, thanks to a mild stroke), but I do sing in a choir, Tempus, who this year managed to get to the semi-finals of the Welsh TV channel S4C's choir competition, Côr Cymru...we knew we weren't going to win, really, but it really WAS the taking part that counted!
For now, this blog is probably going to be mostly about my recovery from the stroke, and what that's like. There's be quite a lot of self-indulgent maunderings about how it feels to be where I'm at, and hopefully a bit of philosophical insight along the way, too.
Feel free to comment.
I generally don't "friend" people I don't know, either online or in Real Life - it's too easy to end up with a million "friends" and the real ones are lost in there somewhere. The other thing is that, occasionally, my journal will have material which I want to be "out there" for people who know me, but not generally accessible...
